It was a great experience to get my papers notarized here. Owen met us in a friendly atmosphere and was very professional. We noticed how responsible Mr. Bland is when he explained us a detail in our papers that we would miss without him. The office is in a central location and there prices are competitive. I highly recommend them!

Had to drop Owen because he was factually incorrect about the law. This, in addition to being incredibly unpleasant to deal with, obnoxious, leaving meetings due to any interruption, taking phone calls during meetings, being indignant, unable to explain the law, overbearing, a procrastinator - but always with someone else to blame. Just an arrogant guy, an ego without the intelligence. He tried to hold my file hostage when I fired him. Also told me to pay without providing a detailed invoice (in which case the bill "would be higher"). These last two points he was unable to argue when challenged by the lawyer who replaced him. Am currently deciding whether to file a bar society complaint against him. Bottom line - AVOID!

edit - Owen put no retainer in place. I had the funds. What makes you think that you can hold my records? That's not how things work. He's quite correct that I jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire, but Owen is a despicable character and I've got all the emails to show it. Owen - if two parties can't agree on a property buyout price, the property isn't sold. Why would you think that? Hope your office reno is nice....at the expense of giving attention to a client. Priorities.

Bland & Associates is a scam. Our family have filed multiple reports with the Barrister Association as well as filed police reports with the HRM police and RCMP. This office did not release hundreds of thousands of dollars and refuses to send an accounting of the trust to prove our funds weren’t stolen or illegally used by them. This office has not paid real estate offices or their realtors causing even those who make their living in real estate hardships. All investigations are currently active and on going. Please save yourselves the headache. You’re correct Owen I am not the client my father passed away and it seems that was not something that you or your “associates” took into account before taking advantage of my mother during this transition. As for misinformation I don’t mind posting screen shots of emails to ensure any others can see for themselves what it is you’re doing. There is still money owed to us that you earned while holding our funds without consent from any parties. A year later and we are still missing documents and to top things off we can’t file previous years taxes as your still haven’t settled accounts. Causing fines and other penalties for our family to deal with. Shall we play this game any further? Unfortunately Owen we are not misinformed as here we are a year later and still dealing with you let me reach out to the others that feel you wrongfully handled their case and I will get back to you

Bland & Associates helped me get my divorce dealt with and I am overall very happy with their service and would recommend them. I initially made contact with Owen and found him very good to talk to over the phone. After our initial conversation there was a longer delay in response than anticipated and I had almost switched to a different legal service but I followed up again and then Vison Linh dealt with me from that point on. Vison was excellent to deal with from beginning to end. And these guys did not take advantage of me. Other law firms with supposed good reviews which I contacted wanted to charge extravagant fees for my divorce but Bland & Associates helped worked out a solution for me and my ex and didn't charge above and beyond the flat rate that they advertised on the webpage. I appreciate their service and if I ever need legal assistance again, I will be without hesitation contacting them first.
