Baker Tilly did my mother's taxes, which were very basic. They charged $800 (my personal accountant said he'd have charged $150). I have sent at least 6 emails to find out why this charge was what it was, but am getting no response. Essentially it is taking advantage of seniors who don't know to ask the right questions. Stay clear!

Peter has been instrumental my fathers corporations, providing exceptional tax planning, dealing with CRA, lawyers, financial institutions, and filing all our remittances and returns on time. Very frustrated and disappointed with the services received. Would not recommend using this company. Poor customer service, lack of attention to detail. Met with Peter C for initial advice. Every contact after, we received out of office messages. After leaving clear instructions regarding 2 basic personal tax returns, we finally picked up the NOAs 7 weeks later, only to find out our instructions weren't followed. I asked for the bill when I was picking up the tax returns, I was told no bill had been generated yet. I followed up a week later to pay the bill, only to be advised it still wasn't generated. --8 MONTHS LATER, I RECEIVE A BILL FOR $340 TO 2 TAX RETURNS! I called the office to discuss my concerns and frustrations only to be given to Jay who advised he needed a week to look into my problems and that nothing has changed in terms of efficiency, customer service or accuracy in tax returns. Jay felt I received a 'discount' of $600+ off what the firm felt they should charge for 2 tax returns. I will not be using this firm again in the future.

My first year of my small business, I was quite pleased with the services I received. The second year though, WOW. If I had of signed off on the taxes they prepared for me I would have had to fold my small business. The amount of mistakes on my tax return was absolutely mind boggling, and costly. Never ever again. If they can't even get your vehicle right, or have you claiming taxes on money you haven't even received I can't imagine all the other discrepancies a person who is unfamiliar with tax preparation would miss.
