Avatamsaka Monastery is a truly beautiful and peaceful sanctuary in Calgary, perfect for meditation and quiet reflection. The temple’s architecture is stunning, with intricate Buddhist statues and a sense of harmony that can soothes my mind. Located in the heart of downtown Calgary, it’s easily accessible and a short walk from the 8th Street LRT station.

I often come here for meditation class, a perfect place to take a break from the noise of daily life. The monastery provides a tranquil environment where I can find my inner peace through silent meditation or simply sitting in contemplation.

Проходили мимо и зашли посмотреть на другую культуру. Пустили и разрешили везде посмотреть, все залы. Красивое место

With no formal practice at a temple or monestary in the past (self study and practice only), I decided to give avatamsaka a shot after visiting dragon city mall nearby. I have to say, the lovely individual working the front desk ((who's name I'm blanking on unfortunately)) as well as Twinkle, who was working upstairs on the fourth floor, both made the experience very welcoming. Due to the very complex nature of buddhism, it can be very daunting to know where to start for new practioners, but both of these individuals made it extremely approachable and easy to digest!

Thanks very much to avatamsaka, I'm looking forward to my next visit 🕉

Very cool place to go for a visit. The building on the inside is not at all what I expected. Its huge, I think around 4 or 5 floors, and the top floor will leave you breathless! Theres 10 thousand gold buddhas everywhere on top of the big ones in the center of the room! A cool place for doors open yyc event
