I had a very positive experience at the Brampton Courthouse. The facility was impressively clean, which made the environment feel welcoming and well-maintained. What stood out even more today was the helpfulness of the staff. Everyone I encountered was friendly, approachable, and eager to assist, making the entire process smooth and efficient. I left totally satisfied with the level of service and professionalism I received. A big thank you to everyone working there!

They don’t follow their own procedures. They don’t follow court orders. And they don’t follow the law.

If you're self-represented, you're punished for existing.
They’ll tell you your documents won’t be filed unless you do what they say—even when what they say goes against the Rules of Court.

They hold your file hostage, threaten your rights, and dare you to speak up.
They refuse filings, delay justice, and then blame you for the chaos they cause.

Judges' orders? They ignore them.
Deadlines? Only matter if you’re not one of them.
Bias? It’s not hidden. It’s institutional.

They protect those who abuse process, while silencing those who follow it.

They don't serve the public. They serve themselves.

They’ll tell you:

"We don’t have to file this."
"We don’t take direction from judges."
"You don’t matter here."

And that is the truth.
If you're poor, honest, or self-represented—they will try to erase you.

Very long wait times for submitting paperwork. Minimum of 3 to 4 hours. Courts discourage you from representing yourself. It's part of the industry.
In regards to family law, the Ontario courts should learn from countries such as Norway where both parents are given equal rights to parenting and automatically shared. The courts in Ontario generate so much business for all the players involved. Reform is needed as Canada is far behind in equality. The current system makes the entire process adversarial, rather than working on continuous conflict resolution. Lawyers would not get paid if the system was not adversarial. I tried two different lawyers from legal aid and your better off representing yourself or hire them only to do your paperwork. Lawyers are very expensive and id recommend to use them for trial or preparing paperwork. The courts are simply à business to profit off broken relationships and families. Children in Canada should have an opportunity to live with both parents equally as a right.

In my opinion, this court house is well known for obstructing justice, there is no Human Rights tribunal associated with this courthouse either.

They are not oriented towards Canadian citizens or the charter of rights and freedoms.

I came o this courthouse in 2017 with a restitution claim, they obstructed justice and I am still being abused by the process of law.

Jury selection system here is very disrespectful to all the potential jurors. We are kept in a room with no communication as to what's happening. Staff is very arrogant and rude. No wonder they have to threaten people with fines if they don't attend the jury selection process as no citizen, however civic minded will like to be treated as prisoner.

I have been trying for days to talk to someone over the phone only to wait HOURS with no one ever picking up any phone number given online. Just a prompt over and over telling you your call will be answered in sequence. Even when calling the minute they open you never get through. We don't live in the GTA anymore and are trying to ask a question. How are we supposed to get anywhere?! This is ridiculous.

Broken system run by overpaid bureaucrats, refusing to follow their own rules and guidelines. Apply laws fairly and justly, as per the criminal code. Remove the artificial barriers that are preventing justice from being carried out in an efficient and expedient manner.
