Complete disgrace from a university that is supposed to train the next gen of vital occupations involving emergency care.

Waiting months, and paying money for a course when during that time you plan blindly as they give you no notice or information outside maybes and unknowns. The organization and discipline to provide even an accurate skeleton of a schedule is non existent.
Payed for registration and glad that's all I wasted it on only to have the course not offered in the one Interior BC campus.

Good luck if your working full time too, as I do, (and many young Canadians) so I don't know how they can expect you to drop 2k plus the time of work, notice to current employer, gas, find a place to stay in that city for 30 days, on a drop of a hat.
They will only release a schedule a week or two if your lucky. They don't offer any housing for their courses nor any kind of support for future students wanting to take courses and spend money.

I'd much rather take my money to the Columbia instead of this sad excuse for a university. High rep, and less then satisfactory reality. They at least can make a schedule for more than a month ahead.

I would give these guys zero stars if I could. Impossible to get anything accomplished online or on the phone. I Paid for a course by cash, the course i paid for would not work online. Requested a refund. Was told I had to wait a couple of weeks for a refund. This place is a joke!!!! Do your research. It has been painful trying to do anything with JIBC in the last 20 years.

The emergency services course I took was convenient in that it was online. The only thing that put me off was the use of pronouns. No need for correspondence to contain " my pronouns are she/ her". I can guess the gender from the name. After all, there are only 2. Male or female! The gender dysphoria craze should not be included in education of any type.

I took the exam for British Columbia Security Training there were some questions that weren’t in the study package. The 40 hours course costs more than $300 dollars and then once I took the exam some questions weren’t in the study package I failed the exam because I didn’t know the answer for those questions because they weren’t in the study package. They should make the questions based on 40 hours course or even they should tell to the people to study other stuff not only take the 40 hours course. If you have the chance go to other institute where they can tell you exactly what you have to study and get some support from the team.

The classes have been great. All of the instructors are super responsive and helpful.
However, it is almost impossible to receive answers from the program staff. I have been waiting over 6 months for a response from the department of the program that I am in. I also submitted a credit transfer request 9 months ago and have not heard back, even with follow-ups. It makes it VERY frustrating and difficult to try to complete a degree here and get advice from the staff.

Second time attending this institute, it is by far the worst organised business I have ever had to deal with, nothing has changed in ten years, I recommend avoiding this school if at all possible. Instructors showing up last minute with out lesson plans, assigned work that has not been graded then disappears from website. You are unable, or with great difficulty able to actually talk to anyone in a department, if you do get through they try to pass concerns off to another person or never return your call. If I could have given no stars I would, and even that would be to generous.

Instructors, yell and scream at students, openly threaten and harass students, and threaten to fail them if they do not "do as they say and show them respect."
Our class also caught them outright lying on multiple occasions regarding which class materials were covered and test scores.

Very little seems to have changed as multiple women and men who did this kind of grossly inappropriate behaviour are still active on the school's website/ promotional videos and apparently are in administrative positions now. Avoid avoid avoid.

I'm an ESS volunteer. We have to take courses through JIBC. Their Website is giving us fits. They never seem to respond to email, and many of the pages on the Website have dead links, or simply don't work. I've been trying to get registered for a course for two weeks, now, and the site just doesn't seem to respond at all. It says it will be sending me an email, but that email never arrives. (Although, after several attempts last night, it did send me an email. Not to the email address I gave them, but to an email address that I may have given them decades ago. And, even then, the email didn't have the information that I need.)

Apparently, when you can get through to someone on the phone, the JIBC staff are great, and can resolve the problems fairly quickly. Unfortunately, getting through on the phone can be limited.
