Scam. Now his website, landlordlawyer.ca, is not accessible anymore, his toll free business phone number is not in service. The police may have caught him and put him in jail. He took money and filing fee and disappeared. He never filed to LTB or represented me on the hearing. He didn’t just do this to me, but to many other victims according to the reviews. Here are his tricks: you can never reach him by the toll-free number. You have to leave voice message. He will listen and evaluate if you could be the next victim. The first time he calls you back, he is nice, patient, professional, spends long time talking to you without asking a penny upfront. He will promise you to solve the problem, to represent you until the tenant being evicted. Then he will ask you to pay thousands of dollars at the end of the phone call. Then you will gradually lose his response. After one month, he will completely disappear.

Paid their fee which was to cover all costs related to end of eviction, but once they couldn't reach an agreement with tenant to move they stopped responding to me. They never filed with LTB as they said, but took my money for the filing fee. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Mr Ike Awgu was a true professional from ‘hello’ until he got the job done. I had a tenant who stopped paying her rent for about 10 months and I was seeking an eviction. Ike’s performance during the LBT hearing was second to none, he clearly has an excellent rapport with the Chairman and is very familiar with the process. This tenant was a professional con artist but Ike managed to get the tenant evicted without delay once the hearing date was set. For legal representation by someone who is experienced, efficient and reassuring I can not recommend him more highly.

Am a fairly new landlord and was simply looking for a specialized law firm to help me with tenant problems. I got a call back within an hour and got very focused response to my questions and good advise on how to straighten up the tenant without even being charged or having to meet. These guys know their stuff well. If I ever have any more tenant problems, I now know who to go to without thinking twice!

Paid retainer. They have been radio silence since, not responding to my emails from the Board , which has canceled my file for lack of response from them when they are supposed to rep me. I paid them already without any service rendered yet. Beware. It feels like a retainer collecting machine in advance. I wouldn’t use them again. No responses to repeated emails and voicemails left for them. BUYER BEWARE!!

I called because of a problematic tenant.

First call. Ike was attentive, responsive, knowledgeable, informative, succinct and, most importantly, provided valuable information quickly.

Out of the gate, nothing but positives. This sounds like it's going to go downhill...but it doesn't!

His responses were in-line with alternative counsel recommendations but succinct, faster, and more relatable. He also offered to respond to text without contractual obligations (which I don't expect that from any representative!). I have not encountered this in this field. Fantastic.

If I decide to proceed with eviction I will, hands down, go with Ike's recommendations for both counsel as well as strategy.

Here's hoping I can toss up another 5 star regarding the possible eviction

As other posters have said, this is a scam. This is not a real service. While they provide descent advise for free, there is no use to pay the retainer as it is entirely fake
and a scam. BUYER BEWARE!! You’ll never hear back once you pay the retainer.

Ike is very responsive and professional. He helped us to get rid of an abusive tenant who did not hesitate to take advantage of system. My tenant refused to move out on agreed date, stopped paying and started threatening and creating safety scare for my family. Ike was two step ahead of any other lawyers we spoke to and was very keen to get our issue resolved.
