Through my work and through my residential past, I have dealt with my share of lawyers. All were various degrees of fine, handling administrative details well enough.

But Mark Graham was different.

Here's my story... Here's why I'm writing the first Google Review I've ever written:

I work in the ever-shifting gig economy, my income is never guaranteed, and keeping up with rising condo fees and an unexpected big Special Assessment saw me getting jammed up. My previous real estate lawyer in Guelph had moved on, and had referred his clients to Mark Graham Law. So, I booked an appointment to meet with Mr. Graham.

And at that first meeting, Mark Graham did something no other lawyer had done before. For the first ten or so minutes, we just talked. Friendly conservation. (Mark is a very personable guy.) We barely touched on the reason I had come. Mark just asked me about myself, my work, showed some genuine interest in who I was, what I did, my lifestyle, that kind of stuff. I was thinking, 'Gee, this guy must not be too busy for him to have so much time to just chat'. (I was wrong. Mark is VERY busy.)

Over the next decade, I came to better understand that first meeting. Mark wasn't just being friendly. He was getting to know me. Getting to know my 'situations', my lifestyle, my needs, my abilities... He was finding out where I had vulnerabilities, and where he could best help me. I realized, each of his clients will have different needs, different concerns, different vulnerabilities. And Mark understands that. We're not 'clients' to Mark. We're people, each of us living our own wildly varying and complicated lives.

Did he help me out? Oh, man, did he ever! (Among some other struggles, COVID would shut down my industry, and, a gig worker, there was no relief for me. Then, I myself got sick, couldn't work for a while, it was getting scary). But the more life 'piled on' to me, the harder Mark worked to clear that pile. The rockier my road got, the more Mark stepped up to steer me through. He brought me solutions to problems that I believed unsolvable. He presented me with options that I never even knew I had. The man is an innate problem solver. He saved me from financial collapse and got me to where I'm now financially secure.

And his billing? Beyond fair! (For every hundred that I spent on Mark, I saved a thousand, I'm certain.) (If not more. If not w-way more!)

I'm no longer in Guelph. I've been able to get out of my condo, out from under bad property management, and out from under my mortgage. I now live free and clear in what will be my retirement home in northern Ontario. And it was Mark Graham who got me here. I could not have done it without him.

Get this... During my last in-office meeting with Mark, the guy who'd gotten to know me so well, the lawyer who'd done so much for me, had been so incredibly helpful... I actually got a little choked up. (I mean, seriously, how many real estate attorneys do that to you -- choke you up upon parting?!)

"Mark," I said, "I'm no longer going to be living in Guelph. I'll be far, far away. But I'll still be in Ontario. Are you still going to be my lawyer?"

"I'll always be your lawyer, Alex," he smiled back.

With those parting words, I'm telling you, I walked out of his office full of confidence -- full of hope as I strode off into the next chapter of my life. Mark Graham was, and still is, my lawyer. The peace of mind that comes with that? Priceless! Absolutely priceless!

We have been to this law office to meet with Mark for the sale of homes and our initial Will and had an excellent experience. Recently we met with Ali regarding changing our wills. He was very nice and very helpful. I would highly recommend them both. They always take the time to listen to your questions and concerns and help in any way possible. Edited to add: this review pertains to Mark only. Ali is lovely.

We have used Mark in the past, and haven’t been super impressed, he is really bad at getting back to you if you call on the phone. He is also really short with his staff, and doesn’t always use a respectful tone with them.

My main issue is as follows: my Mom called Mark’s office over a week ago when my Dad died. There are documents we need before my Mom can do important account closures etc. Mark has still not responded to my Mom, even though she has called 3 separate times, and all 3 times she was assured that Mark would get back to her within a day. It’s not like my Mom can get another lawyer, Mark has the document she needs so she can get the peace of mind to complete end of life tasks for my Dad.

I really hope to not see Mark comment beneath this saying this is the first he’s heard of this, or blame his staff for not passing the message along.

I would not recommend you use Mark.
