Hello! I would like to share my experience of working with this organization
. Not long ago I contacted this department with a complaint about a dealer who sold me a car on credit and fraudulently included additional services in my contract. A person from this department contacted me and asked me to settle the issue directly with the dealer. I tried. But after a series of unsuccessful attempts, I contacted the person from the Consumer Protection Office again. And asked to open a complaint, after which this “consumer rights advocate” started calling me and saying that I signed the contract (like, nothing can be done). I asked him not to call me because my English is bad (and in general, I felt pressure from him). But even after my requests, he continued to call me, which I reported to the Consumer Protection Office again, but this time with a complaint about this person. They did not pay attention to it and, moreover, the employee of the person I complained about told me that the person would contact me again. I do not know whose interests this organization defends, but certainly not the interests of consumers.

I just spoke to ‘Ryan’ I think, very rude and incompetent! Waste of time, don’t bother calling.

This department is wasting taxpayers' money by passing the buck to other departments and doing nothing.

I complained to them about suspected deliberate concealment of return costs at Walmart, but the response I received was 'consumers should protect themselves.' If consumers can protect themselves, what's the point of institutions like yours, wasting taxpayers' money? These government agencies should be abolished.

Poor service but then it's a Government department. I sent in a complaint, the acknowledgement was swift and then i didn't hear anything for weeks. I had to send a reminder and the officer suddenly "woke up"and sent me a hurriedly written response which revealed that she never really reviewed the case. I returned to the biller and they were able to resolve their own issue themselves but when I sent the officer a note telling her I was not satisfied with her work she sent a mail informing me the biller has resolved the issue-more like giving me back the information I gave her. They don't have the consumer's back there.
Wish I could give 0 star.

This is another useless government agency. This agency is only for the interest of business owners but not for the consumers. They are not protecting the consumers. Waste of taxpayers money.

I called in today to get some information regarding inaccuracies on my credit report, and I got excellent service over the phone! Had all my questions answered, and I was given great direction on where to go from here.

While I have had good service in the past the current staff is untrustworthy and incompetent, not even comprehending the Act they are supposed to enforce. Go to your MLA instead.
