Lotus Vu

Stayed here for 28 days in July 2022 for personal meditation retreat. The place is rugged but amazing. No running water in your cabin, no electricity, wood burning stove for heat. There is a small gas stovetop for making hot water for tea. The community sauna is fired up twice a week, it is amazing. I bathe in the river and hand wash my clothes at the foot of the waterfall daily, it’s like having your own natural massage tub. Food served communally once a day, help yourself to snacks and fruits at other times in the kitchen. Visitors share turns with chores. You chop your own wood if you’re staying long. Wifi turned on once a day for two hours near Ajahn’s cabin in the office. Ajahn is a very experienced meditation teacher. He was helpful in supporting my practice while I was there.
The retreat center is amazIng if you are a serIous meditation practitioner. No cell service available on site. It’s more comfortable than camping but more rugged than a cottage. I will return again in the future. Bring lots more bug spray next time.
