Ana is an incredibly reliable, professional, organized, hardworking and competent lawyer. I had her as council and she was someone who did not give up on our difficult case. She showed up for me whenever I needed and had a fine attention to all the details, including what the law says. She was thorough and always knew our case, she was never caught off-guard during court proceedings. Ana works with integrity, honesty and transparency. I would recommend Ana over and over again to anyone seeking council.

Ms. Dzitac was my lawyer for two years for a relatively straightforward family law matter. The final court decision was in my favor, so this is not a “revenge” review — it is a factual account of my experience.
Working with Ms. Dzitac was frustrating and added unnecessary stress to an already difficult process. Throughout the two years, I encountered the following issues:
-Advice that felt generic and not adapted to the specifics of my case
-Frequent last-minute delays with little regard for my time
-Emails left unsent in drafts on multiple occasions
-A general lack of organization, resulting in more hours spent than necessary
-Repeated misunderstandings of my situation, which affected how my case was presented in court
-Inefficient handling of cross-examination, extending court time unnecessarily
The total cost came to over $75,000. At no point was I informed that my retainer had been exhausted, and invoices were delayed for months. I was never given a clear estimate or warning about the total cost. While the hourly rate seemed fair, the number of hours billed made it far more expensive than anticipated.
I am sharing this review so that others can make informed choices and ask the right questions when selecting legal representation.

I had an incredibly disappointing experience with Ana Dzitac. From the start, it was evident that she was more interested in billing hours than actually providing competent legal representation. Here are some key issues I faced:

Lack of Communication: Ana was nearly impossible to get a hold of. Emails went unanswered for days, and phone calls were rarely returned. When I did manage to speak with her, she seemed uninterested and distracted.

Unprofessional Behavior: During our meetings, she often seemed unprepared and disorganized. There were multiple instances where she confused my case details with another client's. This level of carelessness is unacceptable, especially when dealing with serious legal family matters.

Incompetence: Her advice was consistently off the mark. At one point, she gave me legal advice that was not only incorrect but also detrimental to my case. This mistake cost me both time and money, and I'm now in a worse position than when I started.

Overbilling: I was shocked by the final bill I received. She charged me for hours of "research" that he never communicated to me beforehand. When I questioned these charges, she became defensive and unprofessional.

Lack of Empathy: Legal matters are stressful, and having a lawyer who doesn't show any empathy or understanding only makes things worse. Ana displayed a complete lack of compassion throughout my entire ordeal.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against hiring Ana. She is unresponsive, unprofessional, and, frankly, not very good at her job. Save yourself the headache and find a lawyer who actually cares about their clients and knows what they’re doing.

Ana helped me enormously on my family law case that was very complex and drawn out. She took me on as a Legal Aid client and made sure I was supported throughout the process. Ms. Dzitac was opposing counsel for my recent JCC. Divorces are no fault in Canada, but she made a lot of small off the cuff remarks and implications that I had somehow mistreated her client, which honestly, triggered a lot of PTSD and trauma. It would do her well to remember that she has only one side of the story, and it would also behoove her to treat the people on the other side of table with respect and compassion. This isn't law & order or a tv show, it's real life; there is no winning or losing, and the subtle comments which were in direct opposition to lived experiences were hurtful, and harmful.

I tried to have a discussion with Ms. Dzitac about her behavior and she rudely dismissed my comments and told me that she was charging me for the conversation because I was "wasting her time."

I understand that she's young and she may feel she has 'something to prove', but that should NOT be at the expense of the people who are already going through a difficult time.

Have more compassion. Do better. Remember you only know one side of the story - and people lie, justify, and embellish.
