I never write reviews, but this one just gets me. Im beyond disgusted and frustrated. My mom passed away Christmas 2021. I had my first lawyer appointment Dec 27, 2021 with Maureen, the meeting went fine,thought everything was on the path to starting the process, as there was no will, so I needed letter of administration. Seemed simple enough, gave her the information she asked for and left feeling good. However, weeks and weeks went by and all I ever got was things are in motion. I had no idea what was to transpire. Fast forward a year and a bit to Feb 2022, when I got a phone call saying Maureen was no longer at the firm, and it would be best if I made an appointment to talk to another lawyer Tim Hansen. Ok, fine did that. Day of the appointment I go in and find out that the 1st lawyer had basically done,nothing and didn't even have all the information she should have gotten to file for the death certificate from the government that CRA needs. So, over a year later, I'm at square one. Tim assured me he would get the paperwork filled out and filed asap. I trusted in that. Which is on me, I should have just left that office and never looked back. But....I figured he would do what he says. Again, big mistake. So,the first few months things get done, but there's no communication and I have to track him or his assistant down to get any answers. Then, in Oct 2023, I sell my mom's house, title is transferred fairly quick. Then, I hear nothing but silence, I file all my bills out of pocket, takes 3 more months for them to do whatever they do, in Jan 2024, his assistant emails and says the paperwork is ready to send to the siblings to get their signatures etc..I reply and say ok send it off. And then, again silence. I Emailed Tim in March 2024, he says he doesn't know exactly, and his assistant no longer works there,but he will pull my file and get back to me. So,again I emailed him numerous times,and no reply,no response nothing. I finally get info that he has someone else working with him,so I get her email and after a couple weeks she gets back to me, and we go back and forth and I tell her the paperwork to send to my siblings was ready to be sent in Jan, months ago what is the problem. She had to review file etc, FINALLY in Sept, today to be exact,almost a yr after the house was sold I can say I received my chq for my out of pocket expenses. Although I stood waiting for 20 minutes as the lady at the desk couldn't even be bothered to say hi, or ill be with you shortly, really terrible customer service.I realize she was with someone but it takes half a second to acknowledge someone. This was by far THE WORST almost 3 year experience I have ever had. But they had no problem taking the lawyer fees, even though they were beyond unprofessional, and took way to long to deal with this estate. Just glad to be done with the whole thing.
