I was recommended to Lemieux Litigation by a close friend. I was going through an extremely stressful time, and was not sure if I was going to be able to afford a lawyer. After many days of contemplation, I decided to give the law firm a call, even if it was just for a consultation of what to expect when going through a divorce. Nicole Meringolo met with me in person and listened very carefully and closely to my case. She went into detail about all scenarios that pertained to my case; she prepared me and did not beat around the bush about anything. I was scared, but I decided to hire her because she was confident in her tone when speaking to me and honest with her advice. It was a long road, however there was light at the end of the tunnel. Nicole fought tooth and nail and never gave up no matter how frustrating a situation got. She is a go getter for information and facts. She walked me through every step before she did anything and through her perseverance, I gained the confidence I needed to get through my divorce. . I want to thank Lemieux litigation and Nicole Alexandra Meringolo for taking me on as a client after firing my previous counsel. I had obtained a legal counsel in March 7th 2021, which was referred to me by a friend. He provided great service to my friend, and was confident that he would provide the same service . This lawyer was based in Toronto, while I reside closer to Barrie Ontario. This will be relevant later in this review.. We have an early triage court date on May 9th, 2022 where my previous counsel crumbled under pressure. Due to his weak communication skills, poor organization and even gave the judge wrong information which costed me. We had another in August 2022, we’re a motion was put in place because my previous counsel thought it was a good idea to withhold my daughters tuition if I wasn’t granted some additional money front the proceeds held in trust from the sale of our rental property. We lost that motion and I was forced to pay the ex lawyer cost. At this time after constant let downs, lack of professionalism, and absolutely no confidence or trust in that counsel, I had to terminate the lawyer client relationship.
For about 6 weeks I represented myself and was actively seeking a new lawyer to represent me. The only lawyer that responded back was Nicole Alexandra Meringolo located in Barrie. We set up a consultation on phone and gave all details. Nicole agreed to take on my file, and this is where the blessing begins. My court date was February 17th 2023, and from October to The court date Nicole built a case and represented me.
The day of the my court date February 17th 2023, we weren’t sure how the day would pan out, but I was confident that Nicole had my back, my best interest, the confidence, the aggression, and the knowledge to ensure the best possible outcome for me. On February 17th 2023, we settled, and on June 12th, 2023 I officially Divorced.
I’m writing this review, to express my gratitude towards a Nicole Meringolo, a family lawyer that truly takes their job seriously, that genuinely cares about a positive outcome for her client. Moving forward Nicole will be known to me as the FINISHER!! Nicole went in and did her thing! And I’m truly thankful. Now I’m in a position to restart my life comfortably. One thing that I would like to mention, if anyone is looking for counsel it is probably best you look for a councel within you area. Courts up north do things a little differently than the court system in the GTA. Counsel in their jurisdiction will have an home court advantage.
