Community arts spaces are hard to come by. Affordable and supportive ones, even harder. The Carleton Place Collective is a wonderful space for artists and creatives to display their work but even more importantly invite the community in for some amazing workshops and events. Owner Terrilee is super accommodating and supportive, and is making it very accessible to bring the community in to learn and create together. Proud to be teaching my workshops in this fantastic space.

After a month long fruitless search for a viable rental space in the area, I was grateful to find the Carleton Place Collective. As a professional music educator, the Arts Space offered up for rent not only had all the necessary amenities of multiple rooms, a kitchen, etc., but a great ambiance for creative enterprise, complete with vibrant art on display. The owner has been consistently accommodating and proactive, and I'd recommend the venue to any local business owner or artist that's looking for a well-equipped rental space for workshops, arts shows, meeting, and more.

This past year I've had the pleasure of working in an artistic and event space rental capacity with the Carleton Place Collective.
As a professional Artist and Instructor, I appreciate the generous, clean space and conveniences that are available to me.
I had my husband's surprise party here and it was perfect for us - spacious, affordable and convenient.
Terrilee was easy to work with and without a doubt, I will rent and teach here a lot more in the future. Did you know she advocates for housing conditions for rural homeless folks? Yup.

My review reflects my firsthand experience, and I stand by it. If you're considering renting space at the Carleton Place Collective, I encourage you to ask thorough questions about communication, access to shared resources, and how professional concerns are handled. Transparency and fair treatment matter—especially in collaborative spaces.

My experience renting space at the Carleton Place Collective was disappointing. While the space itself seemed like a good environment for wellness professionals, there were ongoing challenges related to transparency, communication, and fairness in tenant relations.

During my time there, I encountered:

Inconsistent access to shared resources, such as booking spaces through the calendar, despite multiple follow-ups.

Issues with heating and maintenance, even though utilities were included in the lease.

Unequal promotional opportunities, where some businesses were actively marketed while others (including mine) were not.

Lack of transparency in business operations and rental payments, leading to confusion about where payments were going.

Dismissal of professional concerns, making it difficult to address valid issues affecting my business and clients.

After raising concerns, I was unexpectedly given notice to vacate without a clear reason. Since leaving, I have noticed my professional presence was restricted in certain community forums, which further reinforced the lack of openness in how tenants were treated.

I encourage anyone considering renting space here to ask detailed questions about expectations, access to shared resources, and how tenant concerns are handled. A supportive and transparent professional environment is essential for small business owners, and unfortunately, my experience did not reflect that.

I facilitate lots of workshops here; it is bright, airy and welcoming. There is art for sale on the walls too.

This gallery not only supports local artists, but provides a beautiful backdrop to a large meeting facility that is ideal for conferences or art workshops. The bookable space includes separate entrance, a very large meeting room, a secondary room, kitchen, restroom, ample free parking, tables, chairs, and many elements for conferences. It's part of a greater operation (in the other half of the dedicated building) that provides a full spectrum of services to support Wellness, Mental Health, and Expressive Arts in the community. Visit by appointment. The owner is wonderfully friendly, mindful of your budget, and goes the extra mile. I am honoured to have my art and greeting cards on display there.
