I was parked on a street far away from the UHNBC Hospital because I had pneumonia, and there was no parking in the parking lot so I parked down the street. Well it turns out that ON THE ROAD they also ticket you. "Park in excess of posted time limits" - there are no proper posted signage for the time for parking on the road. If you want to dispute the ticket you risk an additional fee of 25$ if they find that the offense did happen. Furthermore, I got a ticket less than 5 minutes after I got out of my car. Due to my pneumonia, I probably couldn't even have reached the pay parking station before I got ticketed. Prince George ByLaw is an absolute joke and is totally unfair to the citizens that pay for their job with my taxpayer money.

The city bylaw officers are unaware of the infractions they are writing tickets for. I was given a ticket and when I went to dispute it early to pay a reduced fine as its stated in the city bylaws , city hall was unaware that this could be done. I was told they have never done this for anyone until now. I was told by a senior person that this is false and its true, only when they actually read the actual bylaw did they figure out that they havent setup the proper systems for their bylaws. I was told that my ticket would be waved but only because it was the "wrong" ticket, but when I asked if I was right about a reduced fine when paying early they admitted that yes I was right.

I am happy that PG Bylaw acknowledged that they could've dealt with the homeless population in a more compassionate and humane manner than they did a couple of years ago when peoples' homes/tents were bouldozed while people were away. I think the city has turned a new leaf since the current mayor has been in office. Bylaw seems to be happier and not so pressured serving the new mayor and implementing bylaw. I know the vulnerable population doesn't feel so dehumanized and traumatized. Wow! What a relief. Bylaw officers aren't acting like Gestapo anymore.
