This was my young daughter's first visit. The staff has always been kind and gentle, caring about the person, their experience, their results, and their overall health.

I've been here for well over 15 years or more. This naturally takes care of the business end.

The Assistant and Doctor treated her answers, questions with respect, empathy, engagement, and delivered age-appropriate answers in a mature informative why she could comprehend.

This naturally encouraged my daughter to answer thoughtfully, not rushed, and you could tell she felt validated in her feelings and concerns. It was not just a Q&A session—true dialogue.

My family started attending airdrie family eye doctor about 4 years ago. We haven’t had a great experience there overall. We addressed our concerns about our son’s lazy eye at the age of 2 and he was given glasses. The doctor we saw there was not patient or friendly with my son. He was asked to sit on the chair to get his eyes looked at, and then told could get out of the chair. Because the foot rest on those chairs were off the ground my son thought it was the ground and fell off the chair and got a huge cut near his eye. It would have been nice for the doctor to wait for me to help him, or help him off the chair. There wasn’t a huge selection of glasses to choose from and from the start they did not fit well. We had adjustments but ended up needing another pair. Which we had to pay for even though we didn’t get a proper fit from them in the first place. Even daycare noticed the pair of glasses didn’t fit. The eye doctor who saw him the second time was very friendly but told us the glasses were too small for his face. Our third visit, I addressed my concerns that there was 0
Improvement for his lazy eye and it had been almost two years. My son wore his glasses everyday all day. We were told he needed bifocal lenses and a new prescription and again new glasses. There wasn’t a huge selection and the pair of glasses were over 400 dollars. The person helping fit the glasses is also not good with children. His name is Lenny I believe. He is very monotone and doesn’t get the child excited about their new pair of glasses. My son ended up loosing his expensive glasses so we decided to check out Costco. For the same prescription we got a pair for less than half the price, the selection was better and the staff was great. Again after 6 months no improvement we saw our family Dr for a check up, I asked her if we could get a referral to seek surgery or patching. We got in with the children’s hospital and we saw two eye doctors and the eye surgeon. All three said the glasses were useless especially the expensive bifocal. They were shocked he was given them, they said the glasses did nothing and he did not need to wear them. They said they would of never worked and we basically had wasted thousands of dollars and time. He is now booked for surgery. We had seen 3 eye doctors at airdrie family eye, and every single one we asked if surgery was an option or patching. We always got same answer, which was no, I felt like they never listened to our concerns. I’m glad I asked my family doctor or else his eye issues would of never got fixed. I’m upset we wasted so much time and money. I would not recommend anyone to come here with children. It’s expensive, lack of choices for glasses, staff not great with children, and they didn’t help our son’s issue.

Dr. Franco takes such good care of me. I’d never find anyone even close to her care, knowledge and support. I was referred to her by my previous dr in NL and I’m so blessed and grateful to have her as part of my medical team. Her staff are super sweet too. Thank you all for taking such good care of me. Last week my kids had an appointment with an eye doctor there. The doctor was amazing, very caring, professional and attentive to details. My kids love this place, are never scared to go there because of this kind of attitude. Many thanks to Sue (an optometric assistant), she is the one who explained us how our insurance works, she helped to choose glasses for my son and answered all our questions making everything crystal clear. We will definitely come back.
