I recently worked with Alice Rho of Family Lawyers Collective LLP (FLCO) to formalize my divorce and can say without a doubt it was some of the best service I have ever received.

Jelena Buac of Family Lawyers Collective LLP comes with my strongest recommendation if you find yourself unfortunately in need of family law legal representation. She is professional, well-mannered, intelligent, and has a goal to conclude proceedings as quickly and successfully as she can, while keeping you and your family’s best interests at the forefront. I don’t think I ever waited more than half a day for a reply to an email, and she took the time to speak with opposing counsel to quickly resolve matters that could have easily been over-billed otherwise via back-and-forth emails. It is also a cautionary tale that I’d like to warn other families about by contrast. Prior to Jelena, I am sad to say that I engaged another lawyer (privately owned) in town for 6 years and had no real progress. He and opposing counsel seemed to find a way to confound an already difficult and costly process, over-promised and vastly under-delivered. Work often was done and then redone several times, and then billed to us. Contrast this to the consistency of Jelena, her kind and pleasant staff, excellent communication and focus on getting us to where we wanted to be in 1/6th the time of previous counsel. I am happy to say we were very successful in our settlement, and that Jelena was instrumental in keeping us on track by being practical, explaining everything well to me so that I could make important decisions, and keeping her focus on executing her role with precision and class. I whole-heartedly encourage you to seek counsel with Jelena, and please don’t be afraid to let go of your counsel if they sound like our previous lawyer. I did not know what to expect from a lawyer when I started this process but can certainly say that if all lawyers focussed on doing their job well and with integrity like Jelena, this difficult process would be far less time-consuming and painful. Job well done, and thank you for your true counsel and care for our family.
