Decent little skatepark in an area that desperately needed one. Seems to be well built as it’s holding up nicely in the 4+ years since it was built. (Although there’s a few wonky spots) the “M” for Malvern built into the big bank was a nice personalized touch.

There’s a serious lack of transition here though. No bowl or mini-ramp. Just a steep quarter-pipe with no deck on top. Very much a “back and forth” type skatepark as it’s long and skinny. I could see this being an issue when it’s crowded, especially with younger kids (usually on scooters) who may not understand skatepark etiquette or the direction of flow.

No lights and the parking lot is a 3 minute walk from the park itself, but now I’m just nitpicking.

Neilson’s got enough to keep a beginner or a seasoned pro busy for a while.

Definitely check this one out if/when you find yourself in West Durham/East Toronto. 3.5 stars.

Decent park with amazing skatepark with special m design

My son enjoyed his first time at this skate park location. All ages enjoyed that section of the park with their scooters, roller/inline skates, and skateboards. Fun, family-friendly environment.
A bit closer to the road than expected, but it's still worth the trek over there.

A bit slippery since my skateboard wheels are a bit hard but probably just the new park feel. Nice and cozy, recommend for beginners. Will probably feel really crowded with a lot of people since it's quite narrow.

Great beginner park. Best to ride during day as less occupied. I'll be working on getting to know my bike and getting air here.

Super cool little skate park, would like to see some clear markings for the sharp inclines and crests which are set at a sharp concrete 40 degrees. Be careful, wear all.gear you think you dont need. And have fun. Enjoy in the day as the evening hours and the lack of proper lighting hinder the activities. (Maybe that's the plan behind it devised by the municipality so the kids go home early? Who knows , it's fun to just get some after sundown chills and chats. Benches lining the sides and on a dry summer day you have the entirety of neilson park to sprawl and explore.

Who designs these places. At least the ground is smooth. Some trees wouldn't hurt eh city planners? Good way to reduce the number of ppl who utilize the park though....ugh.

Good park, good size features for intermediate to beginner skaters. nice flow although it got a bit busy.
