I was recommended her as a Real estate lawyer by my realtor, I was assured that Anna would be able to close the sale even though it was a short close. My experience was by far the worst experience I have had with a real estate lawyer based on my experience. Since coming in, I was told there are extra hidden fees like an additional 75$ to request an estoppel certificate from a condo boxes on top of a fixed real estate fee and a fee for expedited close, which I was prepared for. I left the in person meeting asking what other information Anna needed to close because I was going out of town, all information was provided the next day to the law office. I haven't heard back from the lawyer or her assistant again for another week to let me know that they need any other information. They reached out two days before the scheduled close to ask for a mortgage number. I did bring the number with me in person to which the lawyer said I don't need it. Ok, had to scramble overseas to get a mortgage number. The closing day comes and no communication again, I see an amount in my bank account and I email the lawyer and real estate agent to confirm that the deal actually closed. Not happy with the service received and the lawyer failed to take any accountability in the end, including the fact that they conveniently didn't mention another hold back of 200$ to finalize something with the mortgage in 6 months. This was not mentioned in the initial consult, a lot of little charges that kept popping up.
The other lawyer I dealt with previously was able to provide close details the next day at kept me informed throughout the process for 1/3 the cost. The only reason I had to find someone new is because he retired. Will not be going back to the law office and I am glad this experience was over.
